We advise everyone to get regular checkups done from a dentist to maintain oral health. These checkups allow our experts to get an up-close and in-person look at your teeth. Dental issues can arise over time and preiodic / regular checkups give us the chance to detect and prevent these issues before they become more serious.
At Basswood Family Dental, a regular dental checkup includes a full examination, professional cleaning, an oral cancer screening and if necessary, X-rays etc.

Our teeth and mouth are very sensitive areas. If you have an injury, infection or tooth-decay, the pain can be unbearable at times. Basswood Family Dental offers emergency dental services so that you don't suffer from the pain and take immediate cure from us.
Whether it is an infection, a broken tooth or you want to have had a tooth removed, Dr. Hans will be happy to provide tender dental care to each and every one.
Teeth whitening procedure is one of the safest, economical and most effective way to brighten your teeth and smile. As we grow old, our teeth are exposed to foods and drinks that stain the teeth. Even though our teeth may be healthy, they might loose their appeal. They could rarely stay white for as long as we'd like. The treatments provided by Basswoord Family Dental will lighten your teeth significantly and help you obtain the smile you want.
Our in-office Zoom Whitening solutions are the perfect treatment to stains caused by tea, coffee, berries, candies, red wine etc.
Some of our patients have teeth which are weak, breaking, cracked or severely worn down. If you too have any of these problems, we are happy to share that our dental office has perfect solutions that will restore your tooth to their original size, shape and strength in a unique way - a dental crown.
The tooth crown procedure occurs in two separate visits. In the first visit, we examine your tooth, take an impression and fit the portion with a temporary crown. Within a dental lab a custom crown is prepared for your tooth. Once we've received the dental crown, we'll ask to visit our office for a second visit where we remove the temporary crown and fit and place the permanent one.
At Basswood Family Dental, we offer dentures that are effective and natural-looking than ever before. High-quality dentures from BFD, allow you to have a complete set of teeth that not only appear healthy and natural but also restore the function of natural teeth. We provide the following types of dentures:
Removable Dentures: they rely on suction and gripping to remain in place. Since there are no dental implants with this method, no oral surgery is needed. These are removable dentures and can be easily cleaned outside the mouth.
Fixed Dentures: remain steady and secure at all times through the use of dental implants. Once installed and applied, fixed dentures cannot be removed except through oral surgery.
If you have a missing tooth or teeth that need to be extracted/replaced, dental implant is the right choice for you. We won't recommend a better and long-lasting tooth replacement option than dental implants. Implants are small, screw-shaped titanium posts which are used to replace the roots of missing teeth. They are covered by porcelain crowns that look and feel just like your old tooth.
We understand that a root canal is many patients' greatest fear when it comes to the dentist. However, root canal therapy can save you from needing a full tooth extraction. The most important thing to remember is that root canal therapy, also called endodontic therapy, is about relieving the pain from a toothache, not causing it.
At Basswood Family Dental, we provide gentle root canal therapy to help heal abscessed teeth and get rid of an infection.
A person's gums are vital to his/her overall oral health. When our gums are exposed to plaque and tartar for extended periods of time, it can result in periodontitis, commonly known as gum disease. One in two of all adults experience periodontitis to some degree in their lifetime. The main symptoms of periodontitis are red, inflamed or swollen gums, which may lead to bleeding during regular brushing or flossing.
Mostly people tend to ignore these symptoms when they occur. They tend to ignore it but unfortunately, this is often a mistake. If the gum tissue is left untreated and becomes further irritated, it could eventually begin to pull away from the teeth and can lead to spaces which allow for the disease to spread throughout the mouth. If the condition continues to worsen, a person may loose his teeth.
At Basswood Family Dental, we treat periodontal disease at any stage or degree. Our periodontal treatments include: Bone Grafting, Scaling and Root Planning, Dental Crown Lengthening, Regenerative Procedures, Pocket Reduction, Ridge Preservation and many more.
A person can develop a tooth cavity, if it has been exposed to plaque or bacteria over a long period of time. These cavities are small holes / voids which appear in damaged or decayed teeth. If these cavities are left untreated, they may develop into more serious issues like tooth loss.
At Basswood Family denatal, we provide dental filling services where dental restoration is applied to mildly decayed or damaged teeth. These fillings are very effective restorations and have been proven to prevent future fractures or breakages. Our team offers composite tooth-colored fillings which have a natural look and have excellent fucntions. As they don't release any harmful toxins, they are very safe for the mouth and body.
We perform our tooth-colored fillings in a single visit. The process starts with cleaning out the decayed or damaged tooth of any unwanted deterioration/decay or any existing filling material. We then seal off any small holes/voids with our composite filling substance. The last step is polishing and shaping the tooth so that it achieves a natural appearance.
Dental veneers are wafer thin, custom-made shells that are made to fit on the front surfaces of your teeth. They create an attractive, natural look and can be used mask a variety of imperfections in teeth such as stains, chips, misaligned, worn down, uneven or have gaps.
Veneers are also called "Hollywood teeth" because of their popularity amongst actors and actresses. No wonder why - they can dramatically improve the appearance of a person's teeth and smile. These veneers provide excellent results for our patients and can be fit though a simple and fast procedure. With zero recovery time; once the veneers are placed, you will be able to show off your new and improved smile within hours!
